Is Your Workout Aging You?
Do you have a signature face? Raising one brow? Pursing your lips to one side? Crinkling your chin?
Listen, it’s all cute until about mid 30s when that repetitive expression starts lingering on your face. Yikes! Should of, Could of, would of, right?
As I worked out this morning, the lady next to me made the most grimacing faces. She looked down right mean and angry. It made me wonder how she was even enjoying her workout. It looked miserable and nothing but misery was seen on her face! And if she does this every day, how do you think her face is going to begin to look at rest….MISERABLE!
It sounds crazy, but you need to be mindful of chronic actions you are doing with your face if you do not want lingering expressions.
A couple suggestions….
1. Check yourself out in a mirror when you feel a funny face coming on. What face are you making? What do you need to do to stop the habit?
2. Look at yourself when working out. Is your face all tensed up? If so, try to take a deep breath and breathe out during the exhausting parts. Remember if we are tensed up when we work out, you are probably working out the wrong body parts.
3. Consider Botox/Dysport/Xeomin to relax those overactive face muscles. If we add a little above that dynamic brow, you will decrease that signature face and break that habit.
So, by all means, enjoy your workouts, relax nonexercising muscle, minimize those funny faces, and consider Botox/Dysport/Xeoomin to train them otherwise.
