Chamomile Tea Benefits
This is one of the most popular teas on the market. I bet you don’t know all its amazing properties! In fact, the list could go on… almost forever! I have included some of my favorite properties!
The dried flowers of chamomile contain many terpenoids and flavonoids contributing to its medicinal properties with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antispasmodic properties.
With reports of it calming the nerves, it’s a great addition to the diet every day as it helps promote a good night’s sleep. A popular brand I grew up drinking was Sleepy Time Tea, but now I have other favorites. When added to your nightly ritual during your monthly cycle, you should notice more restful sleep in addition to the relief of cramps (published study in the Journal of Agriculture and Chemistry).
Chamomile also contains high concentrations of antioxidants. You know I love to hit on free radical damage. It can help slow down the aging process!
And one cup of chamomile tea has two calories, two milligrams of sodium and no cholesterol.
So, let’s start sipping away!
